Brandon West, MD

Dr. Brandon A. West was born and raised in Southeastern Idaho. After graduating from Idaho State University he moved to Missouri where he attended Kansas City University of Medicine and Bioscience. There he graduated with a Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine and with Sigma Sigma Phi honors. He then returned home to Pocatello where he completed his Family Medicine Residency at Idaho State University, during which time he was elected by his fellow physicians to be Chief Resident.

In the summer of 2005, Dr. West opened his private practice West Family Medicine. He practices a full scope of Family Medicine including a very busy OB practice. He has had the great privilege of delivering hundreds of babies in Southeastern Idaho. His practice also includes adult medicine, pediatrics, dermatology, office orthopedics, and women’s health.

Dr. West has always been actively engaged in the medical community by serving in many leadership positions in the field of healthcare. He has served in several leadership positions at Portneuf Medical Center, including Chief of Family Medicine. Currently he serves on the Portneuf Quality Alliance Board. He and with his fellow board members are helping to shape the future of healthcare in Southeastern Idaho.

When Dr. West finds time outside of his busy office schedule, he is spending time with his wife and four children. He and his family enjoy an active lifestyle. Dr. West loves the outdoors and spends time biking, skiing and hiking the mountains of Idaho. He particularly enjoys spending time in the saddle with his boys exploring the Idaho backcountry. He loves his community and is always looking for ways to serve those in the area.
